Kenya must produce the Chinese nationals formerly arrested

The state has been sued over five Chinese who went missing in the custody of Immigration officers

Brian Angwenyi, their lawyer, says in court that the five were captured on Ngong Road February 15 and not traced, ever since.

Gang Shao, Li Kangzi, Nan Yangyang, Yang Ting and Xiaoying Qin, are the listed petitioners in the case presented at Milimani Law Courts.

Angwenyi, in a sworn affirmation, indicates the AG Paul Kihara, DPP Keriako Tobiko, and IG Joseph Boinett as the respondents.

He says that endeavours to follow them have been in vain even after visiting funeral homes, healthcare centres and police cells. Mr Angwenyi says the five were taken to Nyayo House and later to migration officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

He says that migration officers at JKIA have declined to uncover a data on their status, including that he fears for their life.

Mr Angwenyi says the capture and confinement of the five is causing their families stress and enduring, including that they were in Kenya lawfully.
