DP William Ruto Beats the Drums of War in Wajir as Rivalries are Renewed

Will the handshake stand the test of time when the Wajir West Parliamentary by-election finally take place?

Two of Kenya’s top political parties are set to go head to head one more time in the race to secure a coveted seat, the Wajir West Parliamentary Seat.

ODM is set to battle it out with Jubilee and with the ruling coalition having officially unveiled it’s flag bearer today, everything is set for the battle of the titans.

ODM has already unveiled university don Yusuf Elmi to carry it’s flag in the by-elections.

Jubilee on the other hand, led by DP William Ruto has unveiled immediate former MP Ahmed Kolosh as the party’s candidate in the mini-polls.

Kolosh decamped from Raila Odinga’s ODM party after the Supreme Court overturned his election on January 19.

Ruto has now told ODM to brace itself for a tough battle in the by-elections while promising to deliver a win for the Jubilee team.

Ruto has said that his party will deploy its best foot forward to teach ODM a lesson.

Ruto said the party will ‘stop at nothing’ to clinch the seat.

“We as Jubilee will leave nothing to chance,” Ruto said

“We lost in Wajir West in 2017 because we did not have a candidate. This time things are different. Now that we have a candidate we are stopping at nothing to capture the seat,” the DP declared.
