Recent banditry attacks and murders by cattle rustlers in Baringo county have been condemned in the strongest terms possible by Kenyans who have called out on the government to provide more security for the attack-prone area.
The early Thursday morning deadly attack by suspected Pokot bandits in Kapindasum, Baringo South reportedly left one Kenya Police Reservist officer and four civilians dead.
Two other people who were injured are recuperating at Marigat Sub District Hospital.
There was tension in the area as locals claimed that the reservists were targetted because they from a certain community.
The assailants also reportedly stole cattle and fled towards Chepkalacha in Tiaty East.
Several leaders have condemned the attack including Baringo South Charles Kamuren.
He called for security to beefed up in the area.
Kenyans have come out to condemn the attack and called the government to up their game and provide a lasting solution.

@JLetangule added, “The cowardly act of bandits in Baringo South should be condemned in the strongest terms possible, spraying bullets on sleeping people, thereby killing 5 and driving away their cattle is cowardly “
@Atanasi_K blames the government for not providing the necessary security. “I think the government is not serious to crash (Mungiki style) the organized militia from Pokot terrorizing people along the kerio Valley, from Baringo south, Baringo County to Kainuk in Turkana County,” he said.
