The ongoing fight against graft in the country has been greatly politicised with a general feeling that it has been directed towards a certain individual and community.

One man that has been at the centre of this entire war on corruption is deputy President William Ruto. Many quarters have hinted that the renewed efforts to fight corruption are aimed at frustrating William Ruto who many people consider as the Chief Priest of Corruption.

Ruto’s allies led by Rift Valley Political leaders have on their part argued that the current fight against corruption is aimed at painting their political hope as a bad person who cannot be trusted with public office.

They have time and again accused Raila Odinga of engineering the ongoing onslaught on William Ruto.

Well, Raila Odinga has now come out and has made an emphatic statement with regards to the same.

According to the AU High envoy for Infrastructure, the renewed efforts to fight corruption are not targeting DP William Ruto and his allies.

Raila said there is a general misconception that DP Ruto is the target in the concerted efforts to fight graft.

He said no particular individual or region is being targeted but the objective is to ensure that public money is not stolen by a few individuals.

The ODM party leader also reiterated the need to amend the Constitution through a referendum.
