The mother of a 6-year-old girl, who won Kenya’s Little Miss World pageant, has appealed to well-wishers to help her raise Ksh40, 000 needed to register her daughter for the Miss World contest scheduled to take place in Spain later this year. The deadline for registration is Friday, February 22. Shammah Lindsey Wambui Mugambi, a Class One pupil, is the reigning Little Miss World Kenya title holder.

Lindsey, who hails from Majimbo Village in Embu County, says she wishes someone would help her mother, Olive Wambui, raise the needed money so that she [Lindsey] can realise her dream of representing Kenya in the global competition. “I have been training a lot, and I would love to win the crown,” said the little girl. The girl’s mother, Olive, says she has gotten another baby, whose needs have eaten up her finances. Olive claims her attempts to seek financial assistance from the County Government of Embu bore no fruits. Olive now says she is hoping a well-wisher would come to their rescue, given her daughter’s title did not come with an advantage of sponsorship.
