Manchester fans won’t love what Liverpool coach thinks of Ole Gunnar

Jurgen Klopp says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not performed any magic at Man Utd since he came in

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played down Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s work at Manchester United since he replaced former manager Jose Mourinho.  Liverpool travel to Old Trafford on Sunday to take on a United side who are yet to taste defeat in the Premier League under the Norwegian. The impressive run of form has taken United back into the top four and led to calls for Solskjaer to land the job on a permanent basis.

And while Klopp admits his opposite number this weekend has done a fine job, he believes he is simply getting the best out of his players – something Jose Mourinho wasn’t able to do. Klopp told Sky Sports: “We are not magicians. It is not like you can come in and say ‘you are not good but I can make you really good’. “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a brilliant job but I am not surprised.

“We are blessed with really good players. It is all about bringing out potential, showing the potential of the team and improving its quality.”That is what he has obviously done and that makes him a manager for a top club.” Liverpool can return to the top of the Premier League with victory in what appears their toughest game of the run-in.

But Klopp insists there is a long way to go and he is not letting his team think about winning the title. “Expectations at Liverpool will always be very high. They can dream. We dream but we don’t dream during the season,” he added. “City and Tottenham have the advantage because they can chase from behind and we have to play United. That is how people see it. “But nothing will be decided this weekend or next weekend. The base we have created is that we can fight to the end for the title.”
