Look Away United Fans! Rio Ferdinand Reveals his CL Favorites

Pep Guardiola continues to work his magic away from Barcelona – not only does his Manchester City top Premier League in England but also pull off incredible performances in the Champions League.

Yesterday’s win away at Schalke was particularly impressive – despite being 1 mad down and trailing 2-1 at the break, the team succeeded to turned things around completely, drawing words of praise from Rio Ferdinand, an ex-United defender, employed by BT Sport as their pundit:

“I had City down as favourites at the beginning of the season to win this competition. I think the depth they’ve got in their squad is unrivaled in this tournament,” Ferdinand is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

The pundit went on to admit that he believes Barcelona are not what they used to be – an all-conquering team who picked the trophy in the 2014/15 season.

“You see the other big teams, the Real Madrids, the Barcas, they’re not at the level they were. They’re still a good level but not the all-conquering team they were before.

“It’s open this year but I think City are the team in the best possible position squad wise, depth wise to really capitalise on that.”
