Angry mob Beat Suspect In Litein Rape Incident to death Mob

One of the members of a four-man gang that hacked a woman to death, seriously injured her husband and raped their three daughters in Litein area was this morning lynched by an angry mob.

Another one of the main suspects was also arrested earlier today while in his hideout in the same area after the rape victims positively identified him.

According to the county police commander, the suspect has already made confessions and it will only be a matter of time before the other two suspects are brought to book.

The suspect is reported to have been carrying Mr Richard Chepkwony’s phone [whose homestead they attacked] which led the police directly to him.

After the incident, Kapsoit MCA Paul Chirchir and other leaders demanded an overhaul of the entire security team in Kericho county.

County police commander James Rugera confirmed the incident and said the man’s body has been transferred to the Kapkatet Hospital mortuary. 

Earlier, DCI detectives arrested a man believed to be part of the gang.

The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and positively identified by three victims of the attack.
