Earlier today, top journalists from various media houses joined First Lady Margaret Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi, for a training session in readiness for the Beyond Zero Half Marathon.

The First lady said that they will continue to move forward together to ensure the Beyond Zero health interventions reach more Kenyans .

Towards the end of last year, the First Lady kicked off the momentum towards the forthcoming marathon by registering as its first participant and receiving a new certificate changing the name of the event.

The spouses of Deputy President William Ruto and former PM Raila Odinga Mrs Rachel Ruto and Ida Odinga respectively also signed up to participate in the event.

This is not the first time that Margaret Kenyatta spared her hours to train and  take part in physical exercise.

Margaret Kenyatta believes that getting ready for a marathon begins with physical preparation.

She also urged Kenyans to join her in this course to get in shape and join the marathon team on the 10th of March for the 2019.

The Beyond Zero Initiative has used the Half Marathon as the anchor fundraising platform, raising funds and resources to bring to focus key challenges facing Kenyans and build strategic partnerships that will address these challenges.
