Kepa Arrizabalaga injury blow before Malmo & Man City

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was in front of the press on Wednesday.

The Blues are in Europa League action on Thursday night against Swedish side Malmo.

Sarri confirmed that three Chelsea players are out of contention for tomorrow’s game.

Perhaps the biggest blow is to keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Davide Zappacosta is also down with a fever, while Pedro is suffering from a “very strong stomach ache.”

Kepa out vs Malmo & Man City
Sarri confirmed Kepa will miss Malmo.

Without revealing any details of how it happened, Sarri said his starting goalie has a hamstring issue.

Will Kepa be fit for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with Manchester City?

Sarri could only say “I hope so.”

In Kepa’s absence, Willy Caballero is set to play in goal for the Blues.

Willy Caballero, of course, joined Chelsea from Manchester City. German centre-half Antonio Rudiger also faced the press on Wednesday.

Rudiger was asked for his thoughts on the Man City match. The defender ominously said that the final “will show our truth and our way for the season.”

Rudiger also dropped a key comment about playing Sarri-ball.

The defender admitted that sometimes it’s hard to follow all the instructions.
