Higher Education Loans Board has decided to criminalize loan defaulters. The action plan to make people clear their HELB loans intensified with now stringent measures.
CS Amina Mohamed has expressed the outcry in the loan repayment, where she has stated that the 7.2 Billion is yet to be repaid.
To recover the money HELB money the ministry has said it is going to apply the use of crime busters and police to hunt down the defaulters. The number of defaulters according to help records is 74,000.
The stalemate has been hitting the ministry for quite some tome with different strategies being laid to recover the money.
This has made other students in need of the HELB money delay receiving and others completely missing the HELB money.
