Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru now wants the the anti-graft agency to disclose details of investigations in NYS scam suspect Josephine Kabura’s affidavit.

In her 16-page affidavit, Kabura had linked the former Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary to the Sh791 million National Youth Service scam on February 16, 2016

“We trust that the investigations on the affidavit sworn by Josephine Kabura have now been finalised and the number of issues raised by the Director of Public Prosecutions has been addressed,” Waiguru said in a letter dated February 13, 2019.

However, Waiguru dismissed Kabura as a “crazy woman” whom she has never met and came to know about only after the scandal broke out.

“We would like to know the outcome of the investigations as the delay to bring this long outstanding matter to a close on the part of the commission has caused our client irreparable damage and lent credence to the false allegations,” Waiguru said through law firm Issa and Company Advocates.

The one-page letter is addressed to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak.

On August 26 last year, the governor gave the commission seven days to make public findings on the probe of the affidavit.

Waiguru said the EACC summoned a number of people mentioned in the affidavit to record their statements but there was no outcome.
