Under Jose Mourinho Paul Pogba looked like a mediocre Premier League footballer, but since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival at Manchester United the French World Cup winner has been an absolute revelation, and the midfielder produced another sensational performance to help put United 2-0 in front at half-time at Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

With the game heading towards the break goalless, Pogba produced some stunning work on the left-hand side and then delivered an exquisite pinpoint cross to the back post where Ander Herrera was to nod home to give United the lead.

Not content with serving as the distributor, Pogba then ended the first half with a sublime diving header to give United a two-goal advantage, and show the United fans what they were missing while under the stewardship of Mourinho.

Since Mourinho’s departure, Pogba has been the driving force behind a United side that has blossomed under Solskjaer and have become the must-see side in the English top-flight, but it’s Pogba’s sparkling statistics that has seen the Frenchman rise to the top of the United tree.

Pogba has been involved in 15 goals since Solskjaer’s arrival, where he has scored nine goals and assisted six and all that has come in only 12 games.  Put those stats up against what he produced under Mourinho, Pogba had only had nine involvements in 20 games, scoring five and assisting four goals.

Solskjaer has given the French superstar the freedom to attack with ease and duly pull the strings from the Red Devils midfield and Pogba’s first half display at Stamford Bridge showed that he is arguably the finest midfielder in the English game at this present moment.
