Manchester United fans are loving Ander Herrera at the moment.
The Spanish midfielder put in another huge performance in their 2-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.
Fans also noticed what he did at full-time as he shared a moment with Alexis Sanchez which saw fans hailing him as a future captain.
Sanchez has had a difficult time of late, but Herrera made a point of showing the Chilean his efforts were appreciated at the end of a hard-fought win.
The £500,000-a-week man could have a big part to play in the next few games with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard both sidelined through injury and he seems to still have the backing of his team-mates.
Herrera was praised for his leadership on social media, with one fan stating he was a “great example to others” and another referring to the 29 year old as a “shining light” who “deserves the armband with his new contract”.
Others stated that he has “all quality attributes to be a United captain” and is a “complete midfielder” as he continues to flourish in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s system.
