Callum Hudson-Odoi Fails to Hide His Contempt of Sarri with a Healthy Dose of Side-Eye

Chelsea fans were not impressed with Maurizio Sarri as the Blues were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester United .

But it turns out it isn’t just supporters who are frustrated by the Italian – Callum Hudson-Odoi isn’t a massive fan either.

Hudson-Odoi was left fuming in January after the club blocked three bids from Bayern Munich and then refused his transfer request, despite failing to give him the minutes he wanted.

The teenager has made 12 appearances this season, netting twice, but most of his outings have come in the Europa League and cup competitions.

Hudson-Odoi was further annoyed by Sarri when he was left out of the starting XI to face United.

He failed to hide his contempt of Sarri with a healthy dose of side-eye from the Stamford Bridge dugout.

The picture said a thousand words.

Despite the struggling side crying out for an extra attacking edge, the 18-year-old stayed rooted to the sidelines.

Hudson-Odoi is unlikely to have been too thrilled by Sarri’s assistant Gianfranco Zola’s comments about him either.

Zola said ahead of the United clash: “Callum is always on the edge of the team. As soon as there is an opportunity, he plays. Sometimes from the beginning. Sometimes he comes on.

“The manager is giving him plenty of reasons to feel involved and wanted. I want to stress this: there aren’t many 18-year-olds in Europe playing as many games as he is. There might be one or two. He’s playing.

“On top of that, he’s a player we appreciate and we believe is growing up. He has a bright future in this club. Maurizio likes him, the whole coaching group like him.

“People need to understand that he is surrounded by top players. You have to work hard to be better than them, and that’s what we want. We want him to play but also keep improving. He can still do better than he’s doing.”
