A Group of Young Professionals in Nigeria Offers to Pay Transport for its Members In order to Vote

Following the sudden postponement of Nigeria’s presidential and national assembly elections, a group of Nigerian Young Professionals Forum (NYPF) has come out to stem the tide of voter apathy.

NYPF has offered to subsidize transport cost for its members across Nigeria to ensure all of them participate in the coming elections.

While expressing disappointment over the postponement of elections last Saturday, the group said that as long as it was done for the good of Nigeria, they welcome that development.

They also encouraged those who have traveled long distances in order to vote to remain patient as their patience will bear fruit at the end of the day.

NYFP through their chairman Moses Siloko urged every Nigerian, for the sake of protecting national interest, to fully participate in the election at the rescheduled date.

He said that the professional body, NYPF, understands the huge cost associated with travelling to voting points hence has concluded arrangements to take up fifty percent of the total cost of traveling for all its members in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Young Professional Forum, NYPF, is a body of young professional in Nigeria which is committed to promoting and protecting the interest of the country through dialogue and strategic engagement of key stakeholders in nation building, amongst other roles with over three million young Nigerian professionals as members.
