What Could Be the Motive of the Two Suspects Caught Stealing Luggage Straps at JKIA?

Perhaps many Kenyans are wondering the motive of the two suspects revealed by the DCI who were caught stealing at the airport.

Some have shown their disbelief in the investigation as some claim that their luggages were once opened at the airport but they’ve not received the report of the investigation.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday revealed 2 employees of Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) who were caught stealing on Saturday morning.

Evans Akola Agunda and Mercy Chepkorir, were recorded as they stole luggage straps that belong to African Freight Services that is based at JKIA.

Agunda works at KAA as an aircraft marshaller, Chepkorir is an intern.

In the video that was shared on DCI’s Twitter page, a Toyota Prado car is seen pulling up next to the luggage bay.

After a short moment, a man, presumably Agunda, is seen leaving the driver’s side of the car. He then walks over to the bay and picks a strap.

He then hands the strap over to a person seated in the passenger’s seat before heading back to the car.

Before getting into the car, he decides to pick another strap and places it on the backseat of the car.

When he was satisfied with the loot, he got into the car and he’s seen making a swift U-turn before he drives off.

DCI in a statement stated that the two suspects are in custody as they wait to be charged on Monday.
