Africa, for a better part of the 21st century, has played a big global role in the music industry. Introducing dancing styles year by year is the norm in Africa.
West Africa, Nigeria to be precise, plays a big part in the revolution of dance. Afro-pop music is the hybrid of UK’s pop music which is danceable and has made dance moves possible.
The Azonto dance moves from Ghana was the first popular dancing style in Africa followed by Kizomba from South Africa. The revolution continues as Skelewu, Ndombolo, and ‘shoki’ has evolved by years as urban dance moves.
The rise of ghetto moves also has added value in African music. Kenya’s Bazokizo and ‘Odi’ dance from Kenya has seen global recognition.
Ugandan ghetto dance moves have been a big contributor to dance styles in Uganda as artist approach and accepts their own talents. Eddy Kenzo being the first artist to realize ghetto dancers, he has encouraged the youths to use their own talents. This was realized when American-Nigerian Jidena shot his music video in Uganda with the ghetto dancers.
The Ogwo dance from Uganda is the new wave in dance. The dance which was found by Eddy Kenzo is taking over the dancing moves in Africa.
