Seven people died on the spot after a bus collided head on with a trailer along the Nakuru – Eldoret highway on Sunday, while three others succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The trailer driver was among those who died on the spot.
Confirming the incident, area chief Joseph Korir said over 70 more people – including two students who were heading home for the half-term break – were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Hospital and Moi Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
According to Mr. Korir, the 1a.m accident occurred when the bus, christened ‘Greenline,’ attempted to overtake another vehicle at a sharp bend.
