Latest on De Gea and Rashford contracts

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has confirmed that the club is working to renew the contracts of the few remaining players.

David De Gea and Marcus Rashford are understood to be locked with the club discussing extensions and Woodward says that they may have finalised all contract renewals by May. On the managerial situation, the CEO fell short of confirming whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be made the permanent manager or another appointment will be made.

“I’m not getting into that. The next communication will be when we announce the next manager.” Woodward said in respect to the managerial position at Old Trafford.

Thibaut Courtois has said it will be nice to have Eden Hazard join Real Madrid in the summer. Hazard himself is known to harbour an admiration for the Los Blancos and his current contract at Chelsea is expected to end at the season end.

“It would be nice of course [if Hazard joined Real], but I cannot say much about it. But Eden is a top player and also my buddy, so if he came here it would be fun, but he has to make his choices,” Courtois told VTM Nieuws.
