Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has come on the defense of the nurses with new fresh demands. Atwoli wants CS Ukur Yatani sent packing.
According to Francis Atwoli,CS Yatani misled The President Uhuru Kenyatta to make the harsh directive which required the nurses to report to work on Friday by 8 a.m.
Atwoli urgues that CS Yatani has failed to perform and that he is unfit to hold that position.
CS Yatani tried to stop the striking the nurses in a number of times but his efforts have proved futile. In the first attempt he won the court order which barred the nurses from continuing with their strive but nurses turned a deaf ear to the court order.
Even with the President harsh directive after meeting with the council of governors who had the sole mandate of engaging with the nurses officials to avert the strike nothing has come out fruitful.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has expired as most nurses have not reported to their respective hospitals despite the National Police Service promise to offer them protection.
According to the Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako the nurses will not resume duty till all their demands are addressed.
