Why Boinett Couldn’t Save His Cop from the hangman

Chief Inspector Nahashon Mutua, a senior cop was yesterday sentenced to bite the dust by the High Court for killing a suspect who was in police authority.

In a milestone administering, High Court judge Stella Mutuku said the former Ruaraka Officer Commanding Station (OCS),Chief Inspector Nahashon Mutua, had the right to be hanged for tormenting to death Martin Koome, a powerless suspect, a miraa dealer, who had been captured over a local question.

“After considering the painful death the deceased was subjected to and the inhumane treatment he received, even after he was fatally wounded, it is my considered view that the befitting sentence in this case is death” she said Mutua had been discovered liable of homicide on December 13, 2018.

As indicated by the indictment, Mutua hit Koome a few times with a bar and coercively drenched his head in a container loaded with water for around 30 minutes after he was captured following a residential fight at his home in Baba Dogo, Nairobi.

He was later taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital however kicked the bucket hours after the fact. The court heard that Koome had a swollen face, profound cuts and even his better half could scarcely remember him. Also, yesterday, Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) respected the decision.
