SANNY: The bad boy of demolitions roars back

The mere mention of the word SANY evokes emotions of debris flying here and there and a lot of commotion.

After being quiet for a long time, it seems the notorious bulldozer has cut short its holiday, and is back to work in earnest. This time a little more unrelenting

Friday morning, traffic along Langata road was briefly interrupted when SANY went on a rampage demolishing structures reportedly built on a Kenya Railways land.

Powerful politician

The structures along Nyayo stadium are suspected to belong to a powerful politician, and few people ever imagined it could come crumbling down.

Tenants protest

Tenants of the structure along Langata road protested the demolition, saying they had not been served with a letter indicating intent of demolishing the structures.

Meanwhile, SANNY is said to be having a full in-tray this quarter, with a target to demolish structures that are 30 metres from the railway line.

Bad boy of demolitions

Crushing everything that sits on its path, the bulldozer is a nightmare for owners of buildings that are set to be brought down, and its presence along the often jam-packed Langata road is not a good sign.
