Babu Owino on the frontline to advocate for rights of County Government workers

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino the has assured County Government workers that he will lead them on to ensure that they are served with their rights.

The Embakasi East MP was speaking to the county workers who were holding demonstrations and he encouraged them not to end demonstrations until their issues are addressed.

On February 14th 2019, Babu Owino  received a petition from the Nairobi County Government Workers’ Union regarding the delay in implementing their Collective Bargaining Agreement signed with the County Government.

The vocal MP promised to engage all the relevant stakeholders with a view to resolving the outstanding issues as fast as possible.

He also called upon the Salaries and Remuneration Commission as well as the County Public Service Board to work together instead of passing the buck in addressing workers’ issues.

Babu Owino added that the great county of Nairobi will be built by the sweat of its workers and  therefore, their rights must be respected.
