Shot ex-Garissa CEC Mukhtar still uncouscience since October 2018

Idris Mukhtar still is still unconscious six months after being shot.

The former Garissa county executive committee (CEC), Mukhtar was shot in the head in October 2018 in Nairobi.

“As a family we are very hurt and we are praying that justice will be served for our son. We are even receiving threats but we hope those involved will be charged,” said Adan Mukhtar, Idris Father.

According to police, the key suspect, David Mwai committed suicide at the Parklands police station.

The family gave their press briefing Thursday 14th February. The father, Adan Mukhtar said that the bullet was lodged in his son’s head and is still unconscious. The father said that they brought him back from India according to the doctor’s advice which costed them 4 million.

“He cannot urinate normally, we took him from the hospital and made one room an ICU. We have hired two nurses to take care of him. His condition has not changed and he was a vibrant young man,” his father said.

Idris Mukhtar will be celebrating his 34th birthday unconscious on Friday 15th, 2019. The family pleas the government to help them with bringing perpetrators to book.
