Over an inmate he killed six years ago, former Ruaraka OCS Nahashon Mutua is now at the mercies of the hangman as the court has found him guilty.
“The Prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the police caused the deceased suffering while in cells which caused his death,” ruledLady Justice Stella Mutuku today.
Mutua who was serving as the Officer In Charge of Ruaraka Police Station had been found guilty of killing Martin Koome whom he tortured to death, the court proved.
Mutua allegedly beat Koome with a baton in his head and also immersed hi head in water which made him sustain injuries. The suspect was later taken to Kenyatta National Hospital where he died.
Rogue police officers who often torture suspects after the arrests should take this lesson home; no one is above the law and it is just a matter of time.
