Two people died on Thursday and two others injured in a road accident at Zioni junction in Kibwezi along the Nairobi-Mombasa road.
According to Kibwezi deputy commissioner Vitalis Ogur, the dead are a woman aged 40 and her 5-year old son.
The 8 am accident involved a truck that was headed to Nairobi and a saloon car.
Ogur said the truck lost control after a tyre burst and hit the car.
“The two died on the spot and the others among them the driver of the saloon car were injured,” said Ogur
The injured are admitted to Kibwezi sub-county hospital for treatment.
Aside from the Nairobi- Eldoret highway, the Nairobi- Mombasa highway road is also notorious for accidents in Kenya.
Just last year, there were a series of accidents which left at least 15 people dead along this road.
