Mwatha’s Delayed Postmortem Ends In Tear Gas.

Police was this evening engaged in running battles with relatives and friends of the fallen human rights activist Calorine Mwatha. The angry relatives and human rights activists turned violent prompting police to fire tear gas after it was revealed that postmortem to the body was postponed.

The main reason for the delay is attributed to the unavailability of chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor who is said to be in Naivasha attending to some commitments.

Caroline Mwatha was a renowned human rights activist known for bring to light and documenting human rights violations and extra judicial killings. She went missing last week on Wednesday not until yesterday Tuesday when her body was discovered at city mortuary.

Police report indicate that the slain activist succumbed to a botched abortion and six people indicated in her death have been withheld. Relatives including her Dubai-based husband Joshua Ochieng and her father Stanlaus Mbai have since punched holes in the police report calling it fabricated.

However, authorities have assured the relatives that the post mortem exercise will be conducted on Thursday 14th February 2019 without fail.
