Manchester United manager has some positive transfer news for fans despite PSG defeat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Manchester United are scouring the market for new players that can take them to the next level.

The Red Devils decided against making any signings in the winter window as they were put off by the inflated prices being quoted.Solskjaer is in temporary charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season but is in pole position to land the job on a permanent basis.

The Norwegian suffered his first defeat in 12 games after United were beaten 2-0 by PSG on Tuesday night. Solskjaer admitted it was a lesson for his side, the hinted the wheels are in motion to get a squad that can compete with Europe’s elite.

He said: “It’s a reality check. You can see the strength they have when they put those players in as you talk about but that’s the level we want to get to, and we are looking to strengthen the squad. “And then again we have so many young players to take a step up for next season.”

Manchester United were a class below the French Champions and were a bit lucky to only concede two goals. They were further afforded moe blows when two star players in Jesse Lingard and Martial were subbed off due to injuries.
