‘Ushaiwekewa mchele kwa pombe?’ I am sure you’ve heard this phrase somewhere. It simply means having your drink spiked by someone with an intention of stealing from you.
Most Nairobi men have been victims of spiking. Some women have also ended up being raped after kuekewa mchele. And now two women have confessed to spiking a man’s drink and stealing more than sh1.9 million from him.
Joyce Britney and Florence Wangare admitted to administering a superfyin chemical substance on Fredrick Omondi in Langata with an intend of stealing from him.
The women then went ahead and transfered Ksh 1,940,000 from their victim’s account at Stanbic Bank into several accounts held at Equity Bank and MPESA.
They were charged before Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday. The court heard that they stole the victim’s phone and ATM all valued at 23k.
They were arrested with a pack containing 7 one-miligram tablets of Rohypnol, probably meant for another victim.
