A Makadara court on Wednesday allowed an application by prosecution to detain six suspects linked to the death of Dandora Human Rights activist Caroline Mwatha for 14 days.
The prosecution had applied to have the six suspects; Michael Onchiri, Betty Akinyi, Richard Ramoya, Alexander Gitau, Georgia Achieng and Stephen Maina to be held longer over their safety and to also allow police more time to carry out investigations.
The suspects appeared before Makadara Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga who ruled they be detained at various police stations which will only be disclosed to their families and lawyers.
Mwatha, who went missing last week, was found dead on Tuesday afternoon when her body was found at the City Mortuary in Nairobi.
