Sofapaka head coach John Baraza is adamant his team is ready for their next league tie against Gor Mahia following their thumping to Mathare United 4-1 in a midweek league fixture on Tuesday.
The win extended Sofapaka’s winning streak to five games and with Gor Mahia up next in their roster, Baraza feels his side are in a confident mood ahead of the tie.
“If you score more goals it gives you confidence and confidence is what you need as a team. We are in the right state of mind and I think we are ready for the tough test against Gor Mahia,” Baraza said after the game.
On the game against Mathare, Baraza who said the win was a huge motivation and admitted that the players are still trying to understand what he needs from them but hailed the overall attitude in the team.
“The win is a big motivation for my players ahead of the game we facing over the weekend. The relationship between me and players is what I have been working on. I want them to understand me more and vice versa. They have the right attitude to perform on the pitch,” Baraza added.
The win over Mathare saw Sofapaka rise to third on the KPL log with 23 points, a point above their next opponents Gor Mahia who have played two games less.
