High tension following gang related killing spree in Kiambu

Not a night is passing in Kenya without a lifeless body spotted some where as a result of increased murder crimes revealing a dark cold side of people in our midst haunted by rage and blood thirst.

In central Kenya,tension is high in Kambu market in Kibwezi subcounty after a nightclub guard was killed by a gang and the manager injured on Tuesday morning.

Traders closed their businesses and assembled in protest of the killing that comes barely a month after a businessman was shot dead in the area.

“We will tell you what next after resolutions of the assembly. But you can see we are not safe anymore. We have to do something before all of us are killed,” one of the traders said.

Kibwezi police office Ben Chagulo said the gang struck in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and left the manager of the club with serious injuries.

“The guard was hit with a blunt object on the head in the 5am incident and died at the scene but the manager survived the attack. He is admitted to the hospital,” Changulo said.

He said the gang stole Sh2,000 and other items.

The body of the deceased was taken to Makindu Subcounty Mortuary.

The gang is suspected to be responsible for robberies at several petrol stations on Monday night
