According to Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the free scoring Anthony Martial can follow the footsteps of the club’s legend and current Juventus star, Criastiano Ronaldo.
Martial has largely impressed since he joined United from Monaco in 2015, scoring 47 goals in 164 appearances. His move saw him become the most expensive teenager in history.
The France international was set to leave during the summer transfer following a fallout with the former manager Jose Mourinho but fought his way back which saw him extend his contract with the Red Devils.
His teammate Juan Mata called him the “French Ronaldo”solo goal in the 3-0 win against Fulham on Saturday which appeared similar to a goal scored by Cristiano at Craven Cottage in 2007.

When asked about the similarities with Ronaldo’s famous strike, Solskjaer said, “Yes, it was towards the end of the game and we played a very poor game and Cristiano scored it.”
“He does have similarities, of course,” he added.
“If he wants to be at Cristiano’s level, Anthony knows what he has to do. It’s up to him. He has the talent.
“I am glad he is in my team. He has contributed to so many chances, so many goals.
“He is a Manchester United player. He excites the crowd. He excites the manager. He excites his team-mates. And he is a great character around the place.”
Martial has scored nine goals in the Premier League already this season and the 23-year-old is enjoying his time under a former forward like himself. He began his professional career at Lyon, then transferred to Monaco in 2013 for a fee of €6 million before joining United for a record initial fee of £36 million.
He scored in his first match for United, and was named the Premier League Player of the Month in his first month in English football.
