Gor Mahia ace ruled out of Petro Atletico clash

Gor Mahia will be without their top scorer in the Caf Confederation Cup, Jacques Tuyisenge for their second group “D” match against Petro Atletico of Angola on Wednesday in Luanda.

Tuyisenge, who scored a brace and provided two assists in the 4-2 win over Zamalek, is suspended due to accumulated yellow cards. Dependable right back Philemon Otieno is also out of this tie on similar grounds.

The duo was conspicuously missing in coach Hassan Oktay’s traveling squad with the team expected to depart on Tuesday 11.30am.

In the absence of the Rwandese marksman, Oktay will bank on former Harambee Stars skipper Dennis Oliech, Ugandan Erisa Ssekisambu and youngster Nicholas Kipkirui for goals upfront.

However, it remains to be seen who will slot in at right-back following the omission of Wellington Ochieng’. Both Charles Momanyi and Joachim Oluoch have been deployed as makeshift fullbacks before under Dylan Kerr.

Interestingly, Ernest Wendo has also been left out despite featuring in the Mashemeji Derby on Saturday. Bernard Ondiek has been preferred ahead of the burly midfielder.
