It’s been quiet in Mobile technology for some time now, it looked like we have had all the technology upgrades we need. However, this year, there are signs of having mesmerizing upgrades from this year’s Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona from the 24th -28th of this month.
so this is what you should expect.
Huawei’s CEO says that the company may venture into a foldable 5G handset and possible mainstream are the P30 and P30 Pro.
LG: This giant may keep their attention at the G8 ThinQ which they announce most recently. Their main selling point of this flagship phone is the front-facing camera with Time of Flight sensor that brings potential tricks like face unlock, along with AR applications. The V50 is also reportedly on tap, potentially bringing 5G along for the ride.
Microsoft: all eyes are on this one; they will most likely show off the HoloLens 2. The next-gen version of the headset will arrive as the rest of the hardware and software world is finally ready to embrace augmented reality in earnest.
Motorola: we are expecting the company to show off its G7, but rumor has it that they have ventured into the foldable category and will be giving it air play on the very day.
OnePlus: We know that a 5G handset and the OnePlus 7 are both in the pipeline — and, perhaps, one and the same? There’s also tell of private event at the show, but most aren’t expecting any big unveils from the company.
Samsung: The company will be holding another big event some days before in a bid to launch the S10. (How convenient?) and all its iterations to get a big unveil that week in San Francisco, along with a preview of the company’s upcoming foldable. With this launch coming before the MWC it’s hard to figure out if they will have something new for the event, perhaps wearables or PCs.
Sony: Looks like this year, the Xperia XZ4 will be the talk of that station. The handset is quite something, reportedly, it comes with a 21:9 aspect ratio display and a 4,400 mAh battery.
