Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been awarded as the manager of the month of January. He becomes the first United boss to be crowned with the award since Alex Ferguson exactly eight years ago.
Ole has won nine of all the ten matches played in all competitions, alongside United earning ten out of twelve points that was available last month.
The 1999 treble star got victory over Tottenham Hotspurs , Newcastle United and Brighton, together with a comeback draw at Old Trafford against Burnley.
“It means we’ve been the team of the month, both the staff and the players, so we’ve done well,” Solskjaer said. “We want to be winning games, we want to move up the table and this is the start of it.”
Ole enjoyed a sparkling 12-year football career at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, bagging six premier league tittles, and his switch to managerial position has so far gone unopposed.
Gunnar continued in a statement, ‘’the more you know the culture of the club, the culture of the players and the way that we have been successful, that has helped me.”
The Caretaker manager celebrated the award with all his coaching team and even posed for a photo with them while holding the award.
When he was asked about his remarkable start with the club, Ole reluctantly replied, ‘The team deserves every single bit of credit – they’ve done it.
‘But I don’t look back at being proud of this and proud of that, I’ve never been that way, I’ve always looked forward and not sat down before a chapter is finished.
‘I reflect, but I’ve never [pat myself on the back] and said, “Well done”, maybe I should do more often. But that’s just me.’
Ole also revealed about the club’s vision of regaining the team’s winning ways and the stand at the league table.
He beat Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhuttl and Burnley’s Sean Dyche to the award after the votes of football experts and public were combined to decide the winner.
Besides, Solskjaer becomes the first Norwegian to win Premier League Award both as a player and manager.
