Three defenders linked with summer moves to the Gunners

You won’t find an Arsenal fan around who doesn’t think improvements are needed in defence.

January may have been and gone but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill from churning.

Deals have been done and Deadline Day is now just a distant memory but Arsenal’s business continues to get people talking.

Unai Emery is already thinking ahead as the Gunners plot a challenge next season – and stopping the goals going itn would be a good place to start!

The Arsenal manager is pleased with progress but that hasn’t stopped talk already starting regarding summer movement.

Arsenal are monitoring Borussia Monchengladbach central defender Matthias Ginter – but so are rivals Tottenham.

Sky Sports say the north London pair are keeping a close eye on the German international.

The 25-year-old is wanted to shore up Arsenal’s patchy back-line after already letting in 36 goals this season.

Arsenal are said to also be looking towards Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.

And like Ginter, they’re not alone. Atletico Madrid are keen too, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 23-year-old is a former Barcelona youth player and could be an ideal replacement for Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal won’t be ruled out of the race to sign Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

Tottenham are the early favourites to secure the high-rated right-back’s signature.

But Arsenal’s scouts think the 19-year-old could be worth a bid – especially with the asking price said to only be around £15 million.
