Turkana County is today celebrating the first Caesarian section done in Lorugum Sub County Hospital, Loima Sub County under Dr Ekiru Kidalio and team.
This is a big deal for the county since it means easy access of reproductive, maternal and new born Services to the people of Loima and cut down preventable maternal deaths
Through their twitter page, the Turkana County government has assured that Katilu Sub County Hospital is next as they increasingly make speacialized Heath care accessible to the population in conformity to UHC and big 4 agenda.
The health sector in Turkana has received a major upgrade ever since the CEC Health Services and Sanitation Hon.Jane Ajele opened a comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newby Care Centre at Lorugum.
The center was set up to cater for expectant mother’s in the region therefore lowering the cost and travel distance to seek these services in Lodwar.
The center is fully equipped with surgical theatres and wards, solar powered, essential theatre equipment and well skilled health care providers
The Governor of Turkana County; Josphat Nanok Congratulated the team of specialists led by Dr Ekiru Kidalio for performing the first caesarian delivery in Lorugum Sub County Hospital, Loima.
Nanok described it as a great result of investment to make specialized Healthcare accessible to Turkana residents in line with attainment of UHC.
