Prophet Dr. David Owuor, a man whose name causes joy and fear depending on which part of the religious divide you are from is a man who keeps making headlines day in, day out.
From performing miracles to making prophetic assumptions, the long beard man of God is indeed one of the most controversial yet loved men of cloth in this Century.
Owuor has time and again claimed that he was called by God and that for one to finally make it to the gates of heaven, he or she will have to pass through him.
Well, the only way of Going to either Heaven or Hell is through death. This is according to many cultural and religious believes.
Prophet Owuor also believes that he will die. The flamboyant man of God believes that just like Jesus, he will be assassinated in Jerusalem and then ascend straight to heaven after three days.
“The Lord spoke with me about the time when I’ll be murdered. I’ll be killed and lie down (denied burial) for three days, then He will take me up to heaven. And He (God) was very happy. What a tremendous time, how I will be assassinated in Jerusalem,” he said.
But despite his seeming joy at the impending ‘tremendous’ assassination that will see him go straight to heaven, the prophet is often accompanied by heavy police presence to his crusades and is shadowed by suited bodyguards.
Does this in any way show that Owuor is afraid of his own calling, his own death?
