Details of how JKUAT students was brutally murdered over a cellphone

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) students are holding peaceful demonstrations around Juja and its environs to protest against the killing of innocent students.

The protests come after a first-year student at the institution, Tabitha Muthoni, was allegedly stabbed to death on Thursday night as she resisted thugs.

She was walking together with a friend near Segal Hotel when they were ambushed by thugs who demanded their cellphones.

The students’ union asked students to prepare for a peaceful demonstration to protest the killing.

“This is to inform all students that we will be having a peaceful demonstration in Juja Environs. Following series of killings, most recent having been on 7th Feb 2019 at Segal Hotel,” the notice read.

Students who took to Twitter to condemn the killing indicated that relevant authorities must ensure the gang members are brought to book.

“Young people are the trustees of prosperity, it is a big tragedy when those put in place to protect them turn out to be the threat. Calls to @amnesty @DCI_Kenya and other stakeholders to get into the matter before things get out of control. Rip Comrade,” posted Karagu Ngugi.

“It is forbidden to kill; therefore, all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpet. The murderers of Ms Tabitha will one day face the wrath,” added Meshack Onyango.
