Samuel L Jackson’s Best 5 Movies

Samuel L Jackson s an incredibly prolific actor. He is what you would call Hollywood royalty. He has more than 100 movies to his credit grossing in lifetime earnings and along with an Oscar nomination along the way- and this year, he is set to star i Shaft.

To celebrate another addition to his already stellar career, we decided to take a look back and appreciate some of best works.

Here’s the list.

1.Pulp Fiction (1994)

Jackson had appeared in a number of films before appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s cameras for Pulp Fiction. He played the character of Jules Winnfield as a hit-man. This character would later take his career into a whole other level.

Although the movie boasted an ensemble cast, it was criticized for its non-liner structure. Jackson had some of the memorable lines in Pulp Fiction earning a stack of nominations and awards in the process including a BAFTA and Oscar nomination.

2. Django Unchained (2012)

Jackson teamed up with Quentin Tarantino again in 2012’s Django Unchained. This marked their fifth film together. Django is pre-Civil War Western telling a slave (Jamie Foxx) who is in an unorthodox relationship with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz).

Joe Morgenstern of Wall Street Journal’s wrote of the end result as, a “Wildly extravagant, ferociously violent, ludicrously lurid and outrageously entertaining, yet also, remarkably, very much about the pernicious lunacy of racism and, yes, slavery’s singular horrors.

3. MCU Movies

Nick Fury is arguably the oldest character for Marvel readers. Nick Fury is portrayed as a cigar-chomping, gray-templed white guy with an eye-patch. Jackson made is MArvel cinematic Universe debut in 2008’s Iron Man as none other than Nick Fury. Unlike the obvious differences between him and the portrayal, Marvel novices knew he was the perfect guy for the role, and from the moment he approached Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark to talk about the “Avengers Initiative,” he’s been a cornerstone of the MCU.

4. Jurassic Park (1993)

Jackson has played some of the most bad a** characters in film history. Unfortunately, he wasn’t a match for a pack of raptors in Jurassic Park as evidenced by his ultimated demise in the first Jurassic Park,  an offing so unforgettable that his character’s disembodied arm has its own Facebook page. The final product grossed nearly a billion dollars at the box office, won three Oscars, and is, as Film Threat’s Andrew Lowry argued, “One of the big screen’s very greatest thrill-rides.

5. Jackie Brown (1997)

After getting an early break from Quentin Tarantino in 1993’s True Romance — and having a part written specifically for him in 1994’s Pulp Fiction — it was pretty apparent that Jackson was firmly entrenched in Tarantino’s stable of go-to actors. The duo reunited again in the 1997’s Jackie Brown picking his 4th Golden Globe nomination.
