Roman Abramovich, Chelsea owner, has not been known for his patience at the club. According to reports, sarri’s dismissal, which is more likely than before the end of the year, will not be a surprise.
Sarri, who only took over at Stamford Bridge in the summer, has endured a tough couple of weeks after criticising his players and suffering some awful results. Sarri admitted he was struggling to motivate his players for the second time this season after last week’s shocking 4-0 loss at the hands of minnows Bournemouth.
The 5-0 win against Huddersfield may have installed some hope ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester City but pundits believe that Sarri is on his way out.
While speaking to Sky Sports, former Manchester United star Gary Neville believes Sarri’s fate is already sealed.
“It’s mystifying with Sarri, after his comments about struggling to motivate the players I thought ‘this isn’t going to go well’,”he said. “I said a few weeks ago that I thought it was the beginning of the end after what we had seen at Chelsea, the win [over Huddersfield] doesn’t change my mind.”
“Chelsea over the years have proven to dismiss managers once they’ve had enough of hearing their voice. You only need to think about what happened to Antonio Conte and the nonsense with Diego Costa the summer after they had won the league and done so well. We’ve seen it with Jose Mourinho, with Andre Villas-Boas,” he added.
Similarly, journalist Jonathan Wilson believes that the Italian will lose his job within the year.
He told the Football Weekly podcast, “The whole issue with Sarri is when you bring him in you’ve got to give him two years because his football is idiosyncratic.
“There’s no point in getting somebody in to play an idiosyncratic style unless you’re going to give him the players he needs and the time he needs to instill that style.
