One area Klopp wants to strengthen ‘ in summer transfer window

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen the Reds’ defence in this summer’s transfer window, according to reports.

The German had plans to add cover to his squad in January but Liverpool failed to get any business done over the course of the month.

They did however send Nathaniel Clyne out on loan – a decision that has come back to sting them now regular right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is out with an injury.

As a result midfielder James Milner was forced to fill in at right-back against West Ham, and looked out of place as the Reds dropped two points at the London Stadium.

According to The Sun, Klopp wants to bring in cover at centre-back for first team pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez

No one name has been announced as a potential defensive target for the Reds, who made a profit in January when selling Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth.

Klopp appears content with his attacking options, but there are still question marks over the quality of his midfield.

Naby Keita, who set the Reds back £50million in the summer, is still yet to settle at Anfield and Liverpool lack a world-class creative outlet in the middle
