“He insulted me yet he knows I get mad. We decided to fight to see who could beat the other. I took the fork jembe and hit him hard. I then took the knife and cut his neck.” These are the words of Daniel Kamau who confessed to killing his elderly father in Nyandarua on Wednesday evening.
But what really happened? How can a man be so merciless to commit such a heinous act?
“I was angry because he told me to go to Murang’a and ask for money from my mother. Now I feel good. What else can you do when he is dead? Even if I’m taken to court, I will admit I killed him,” Kamau added.
According to the 38 year old man, the genesis of the whole story started when his father, John Maona denied him sh 6,000 to buy food. The father refused to give him the money and that is how he met his death.
The elderly man was found by neighbors at his farm in Silanga village, Ol Kalou. The matter was reported to the chief who called the police.
