5 detainees in Kenyan Prison beg for transfer, citing night conjugal visits

Five prisoners from the Eldoret Prison will be taken to the hospital to establish whether they have been sexually molested by homosexuals in the correctional facility.

The five who appeared before Eldoret Senior Principal Magistrate Harrison Barasa on separate offenses pleaded to be transferred to another facility as homosexual inmates were making sexual advances on them.

They told the court on Wednesday, February 6, that the other convicts often approach them at night for conjugal visits despite being uncomfortable entertaining fellow men according to reports filed by Citizen TV. Upon hearing their plea, the magistrate ordered a probe into the matter by the prison’s administration to establish whether or not the allegations of sexual assault were true or false.

UNDERAGE

Meanwhile, the five will as well undergo age assessment exercise after it emerged some of them could possibly be minors thus needed to be locked up in a juvenile cell as stated in The Penal Code (Cap.63 Laws of Kenya) under the Bill of Rights.
