Cartels have decided to flock the market with contraband goods in the expense of innocent Kenyans, however the government has declared war on them.

This is after the Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) suspended the production of Clover Nuts Smooth and Mother Nature’s peanut butter products.

Kebs, through a statement, noted that the Clover Nuts products from Triclover and Mother Nature companies had been found to have exceeded the maximum amount of aflatoxin content required in the peanut butter product.

Clovers Nuts Smooth records an aflatoxin level of 36.44 ppb, Clovers Nuts Chocolate had 44.25 ppb while Mother Nature’s level of aflatoxin was 27.26 ppb which is more than the standard limit which is 10 parts per billion (ppb).
