Who is Manchester United’s all-time best player? take a look

20 – Bill Foulkes (1950-1970)

Fourth in the all-time United appearance list with 688, the defender remarkably only received one England cap during his distinguished career. The Munich crash survivor only scored nine goals for United but his winner against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu sent United through to the European Cup final.

Understated, hard working and loyal, the epitome of a 90s full-back under Sir Alex, Irwin’s trophy haul at United is phenomenal. Winner of seven Premier league titles in a nine-year period, the Irishman was rarely out of Fergie’s side and racked up 368 appearances for the Reds.
What he won: Premier League – 1992-93, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01

He may have left under a cloud in 2003 as Fergie questioned his superstar lifestyle, but Becks is one of few players to do the famed United number seven shirt justice. Famous for that goal at Selhurst Park from the halfway line, Beckham’s delivery struck terror into the hearts of keepers and defenders alike for ten years.
What he won: Premier League – 1995-95, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2002-03

17 – Rio Ferdinand (2002-2014)
The most expensive defender the world had ever seen at £30m, United have certainly got their money’s worth from the West Ham academy graduate. Ferdinand has matured with age and formed one of the great defensive pairings with Nemanja Vidic. You don’t see him sliding around too often but that is a testament to his superb reading of the game. A true Rolls Royce defender. What he won: Premier League – 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2010-11, 2012-13

The archetypal United captain, hard working and with a fine footballing brain, Byrne helped United to their first league title in 40 years and Sir Matt Busby’s first as manager. Seen as a father figure to the Busby Babes, he tragically died aged 28 in the Munich disaster and was survived by his pregnant wife. What he won: First Division – 1951-52, 1955-56, 1967-5714 – David de Gea (2011-present)
Among Sir Alex Ferguson’s final buys for the club, the Spaniard has become one of the world’s top goalkeepers in his time at Old Trafford. At a time when the Reds’ fortunes have dipped, he’s been the one world-class constant, winning United’s player of the year award four times, winning Match of the Day’s Save of the Season five times and being named in the FIFA FIFPro World XI in 2018. What he’s won: Premier League: 2012-13

One of only three players to win two Champions League titles for the Reds, his intelligence and knowledge of the game was never truly acknowledged until his move into punditry. What he won: Premier League – 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09

So great was the Dane’s impact at Old Trafford, it took six years to find a sound replacement after his 1999 departure. One of few players to cross the divide and pull on the blue of City but still be loved by United supporters, his role in the ’99 treble cemented his place in United folklore. What he won: Premier League – 1992-93, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99

10 – Roy Keane (1993-2005)
The archetypal box-to-box midfielder, famed for his fiery temperament and confrontations with Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira. Keane’s performance in the 1999 Champions League semi-final against Juventus has already gone down as one of the great individual displays. There have been more talented midfielders, but not many more effective. What he won: Premier League – 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2002-03

Image result for eric cantonaKing Eric was a snip at just £1.2m from Leeds in 1992. He led United to four Premier League titles in five years and inspired a generation of collar-popping kids. Notorious for that incident at Selhurst Park, but famed for that chip against Sunderland in 1996, capable of almost anything with the ball at his feet. What he won: Premier League – 1992-93, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97
FA Cup – 1994, 1996

A victim of the tragic Munich air disaster aged just 21, Edwards had already made more than 150 appearances in the red of United. One of the Busby Babes, and described by his manager as ‘the most complete player in Britain – possibly the world’, most commonly seen at left half-back, he could have played anywhere. What he won: First Division – 1955-56, 1956-575 – Paul Scholes (1991-2013)
So good Fergie brought him out of retirement to try and stop City’s march to the 2011-12 title. The quietest member of the United dressing room, it’s left to such luminaries of the game as Pep Guardiola, Zinedine Zidane and Xavi to sing the praises of Paul Scholes. Incredibly talented, his reading of the game and vision has rarely been equalled and a phenomenal ball striker. What he won: Premier League – 1995-96, 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2010-11

Intercontinental Cup – 19994 – Denis Law (1962-1973)

United’s second all-time scorer with 237 and still holds the record for most competitive goals in a single season with 46. The King formed one third of the Holy Trinity alongside Charlton and Best and refused to celebrate after scoring for City against United in 1974, a goal he thought relegated the Reds. What he won: First Division – 1964-65, 1966-67
European Cup – 1968
3 – Bobby Charlton (1956-1973)
Nobody has scored more than Sir Bobby’s 249 United goals, while only Ryan Giggs has made more than his 758 appearances. Captain of the 1968 European Cup-winning side, he won the UEFA Ballon d’Or in 1966 and is regarded as one of the finest goal-scoring midfielders of all time. What he won: First Division – 1956-57, 1964-65, 1966-67
European Cup – 1968
FA Cup – 1963
Charity Shield – 1956, 1957, 1965, 1967
2 – George Best (1963-1974)
The man every United number seven is judged against, a true great of the world game that sadly never got to play on the biggest stage at a World Cup. Scored in United’s extra-time win over Benfica in the 1968 European Cup final, and capped the year winning by UEFA’s Ballon d’Or. What he won: First Division – 1964-65, 1966-67
