More questions than answers have arose in the ongoing investigation regarding former Foresight Company  employee, Mildred Odira. The CCTV footage from hospital show that the taxi drove into the hospital at around 4:30 am on January.

The footage also shows the taxi leaving the facility at 5:57 am, almost one and half hours late. However, the taxi operator had, on Friday, indicated to the family that he left Odira at the hospital and only stayed at the facility for about 20 minutes.

Odira, who was a telephone operator at the Nation Media Group, left her house in Kariobangi in the wee hours of January 29 to go to Uhai Neema Hospital in Ruaraka. She never got there! This is despite the CCTV footage showing the taxi drive into and out of the hospital.

“She was not at the hospital, so we thought she might have gone to a different one. But records at all the hospitals around showed that she had not visited any,” Ms Onyango, Mildred’s sister said.

The family is left with more questions than anticipated as the whole mystery surrounding her death unfolds. “What does the taxi driver know? Why did he not drop her off at the hospital?”, questioned Mr Erick Odira, who is Mildred’s brother.

“She must have been run over by a car to conceal evidence before being dumped by the roadside,” Mildred’s mother Caroline Odira said. “I want justice done by bringing my daughter’s killer(s) to book,” she added with rage.

The family is also questioning the police failed to notify them after they found the body despite the media coverage that this case has generated as well as the fact that the family had already made a report.

According to the police, a postmortem on Mildred’s body is expected to give more clues to the murder puzzle.
