Life away from Manchester Unite hasn’t been blissful for Jose Mourinho. The ‘special one’ was a special guest in a ice hockey match in Russia for Avangard Omsk’s ice hockey match against SKA St Petersburg in Siberia

.After performing his duties, Mourinho left a special mark to players and spectators alike-he fell over the red carpet.

Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho in December last year after a not-so-special start to the season and a widening crack in the dressing room. This was not the first time such an issue has arisen during his career as a manager.

Since then, Mourinho has gone out and about enjoying life away from the dug-out and UK media. But yesterday saw him him come crashing back down to earth-literally.

After Mourinho dropped the puck between Avangard’s Evgeny Medvedev and SKA’s Pavel Datsyuk, the special one turned around to walk on the red carpet back, only for it to slip and send him crashing on ice.

He quickly shrugged off the incident as he was helped back to his feet by the players. Soon after, Medvedev hugged him while checking whether he was ok.

The Kontinental Hockey League shared a video with the caption:“That was unfortunate, but we hope Mr. Jose Mourinho is alright.” The tweet was quickly deleted once it was picked up on social media.

Mourinho had agreed to promotional work for Avangard, with a base in Balashikha. He spent the better part of the day signing autographs, meeting players, taking a walk around their facilities and watching the players warm up.
